What happened on the Peninsula last week?
June 2nd - June 8th
I met a lovely family relocating from the Midwest today. As we toured the Peninsula, we talked about the many things that make Palos Verdes such a special place to live. They were captivated by the dramatic coastline, the miles of trails, the excellent schools, the sense of community, and the fact that, despite being just minutes from Los Angeles, life here feels peaceful and a little more connected.
As they experienced it all for the first time, I was reminded how easy it is for those of us who live here to take these things for granted. We become accustomed to the ocean views, the sunsets over the Pacific, the quiet neighborhoods, and the simple pleasure of knowing our neighbors.
Seeing the Peninsula through their eyes was a welcome reminder that what feels ordinary to us is extraordinary to many others. It is more than just a beautiful place to live. It is a community, a lifestyle, and a place people dream about calling home. Days like today make me appreciate just how fortunate we are to live here.
