Las Candalistas Author’s Luncheon — “Journey Through the Pages”
Enjoy a day of literary charm and community spirit at the Las Candalistas Fall Author’s Luncheon, “Journey Through the Pages.” Set against the scenic backdrop of Los Verdes Golf Course, this annual event combines creative inspiration with meaningful local giving.
The morning begins with champagne upon arrival and time to browse boutique vendors featuring artisan goods, gourmet foods, and handcrafted treasures. Guests can also explore the Garden Shop, Jams & Jellies booth, and Sweet Shop, a longtime favorite among attendees. A plated lunch follows, complete with panoramic ocean views, engaging speakers, and a silent auction filled with unique finds.
Tickets are $125 per person and must be purchased in advance. Reserved tables are available for parties of twelve. All proceeds benefit South Bay charities that enrich the community throughout the year.

RPV's Run for Myles 5K
Lace up for one of the most scenic charity runs in Southern California, the annual Run for Myles 5K & 10K. This beloved community event takes participants along a picturesque coastal course overlooking the Pacific Ocean, starting and finishing at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center in Rancho Palos Verdes.The run directly supports trail preservation efforts throughout the city, helping maintain the natural beauty of Palos Verdes for generations to come. Participants are also encouraged to create fundraising teams or individual campaigns to amplify their impact.

Marine Mammal Care Center
The Marine Mammal Care Center offers an inspiring opportunity to learn about the rescue and rehabilitation of local marine life. Visitors can see seals and sea lions currently in care, explore educational exhibits, and meet volunteer docents who share insights about the center’s work and the ocean we all share.
The facility is open to the public Friday through Monday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and is closed Tuesday through Thursday. Admission is free, though a $5 donation per person is appreciated and helps support the animals’ ongoing care. Tickets should be reserved online in advance, as walk-ins are limited based on capacity.

Dinosaurs Around the World: The Great Outdoors
Step back in time at the South Coast Botanic Garden’s outdoor exhibit, Dinosaurs Around the World: The Great Outdoors. Spread across 87 acres, visitors can see thirteen life-sized animatronic dinosaurs that move and make sounds as they tell the story of life on the ancient supercontinent of Pangea. Informational signs and trail markers guide guests through each section, showing where these fascinating creatures once lived and how they adapted across the globe.
The exhibit is included with regular garden admission and runs through February 1, 2026. Visitors can also buy tickets for the Pangea Express, a guided tram ride that travels through the exhibit while a naturalist shares stories about the Age of Reptiles. The tram operates hourly on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9 am to 4 pm.
Tickets cost 10 dollars for members and up to 30 dollars for non-members, which includes both the tram and garden admission. It is an exciting and educational experience for families, nature enthusiasts, and anyone interested in prehistoric life.
